BTCC Season 2025 – CROFT – RACE 2
Race 2 here at croft was interesting for the drivers as a stiff westerly wind had got up, upsetting a few of the cars in some of the quicker corners, together with a rise in humidity to 82%. People often think that a tailwind is great as the cars go that little bit quicker, but then that upsets your breaking points with all of that extra speed!
Starting in 13th, Aiden knew that a good race here would put him in the mix for a decent position at the start of Race 3 with the reverse grid. Starting in 13th, Aiden was up to 11th on lap 3, where he and Dan Cammish in the Focus were locked in a battle, which saw Aiden really hassling the Ford for the next 6 laps.
On lap 9, Aiden made his move and gained 2 places to 9th, where he reained for the last 7 laps of the race.
Charles, starting in 8th had eyes firmly focussed on a top 5 finish, and got off to a great start getting up to 7th place on lap 3. Quickly moving up another 2 places, he became embroiled in an epic battle with multiple champion Ash Sutton, with Sutton just edging it at the end to give Charles 6th place.
After the race, we all held our breaths as the reverse grid was pulled and it was the number 9. Aiden is on Pole for Race 3, just as he had planned all along, with Charles in P4!!
