BTCC Season 2025 – Donington Park GP – QUALIFYING

Welcome back to Donington Park and for those of you who follow cricket, rain stopped play.
The weather here at Donington Park caused havoc with the Qualifying session, leading to one of the strangest lineups for a first race all season. It started a bit damp and then got seriously wet, which with these sessions being done in 10 minute chunks, leaves minimal room for a tyre change.
Aiden was out on track in the first session of Qualifying and just as he was completing his outlap, the rain started. Pushing hard, it was clear that the grip wasn’t there in the conditions and at the end of Qualifying part 1, he missed out by 0.1 of a second.
Part 2 of Qualifying saw Charles struggling for boost on lap one and he had to come in for some urgent repairs which turned out to be electrical. Having missed 2 minutes of Qualifying, Charles was just exiting the pitlane when it threw it down and the car was aquaplaning into the corners.
The result of all of this mayhem is that Charles will start P15 tomorrow, next to Aiden who is 16th. Yes we have work to do, but both Aiden and Charles are incredible Sunday performers and will no doubt be lighting up the timing screens.
We’ll see you tomorrow!
