BTCC Season 2025 – Oulton Park – qualifying

Hello again everybody and firstly please may I apologise for the lateness of the report, but unfortunately we have had some internet outage at Oulton park this afternoon and this is the first chance we’ve had to get reports out.
That was an incredibly close qualifying session for the team in hot and slightly damp conditions where rain was imminent at almost any moment, and confidence in handling was at a premium. Several cars slid wide under power even on the straits, so it was always going to be a tough session.
Aiden and Charles were out in the second of the 10 minute initial qualifying sessions and both looked to have just missed out on the top 12 shootout when at the last moment and on his last lap Charles was able to pull a lap time of one minute 25.002 seconds out of the bag to take 6th place in the session and move forward to the top 12 shootout .
Prior to that, both Charles and Aiden had been running in around 1 minute 25.2 seconds and despite continuing that pace, this left Aiden in 18th place on the grid. Whilst Aiden would have preferred to have been higher, we are realistic that for the third round running, front wheel drive cars have dominated the proceedings . Race day is of course a different matter and Aiden is one of the best overtakers in the field and is sure to put in a very strong showing in the three races tomorrow.
In the second qualifying session for the top 12, Charles put in a fabulous lap of one minute 24.729 to put himself 9th on the grid for tomorrow’s first race . This was an exceptional lap given the difficulties that the rear wheel drive cars had had, and this leaves Charles once again as the leading BMW in the field.
The weather forecast for tomorrow appears to be around 10° cooler than today, but dry even if it is somewhat cloudy. It is certain that the drivers, the teams, And the time manufacturers Dunlop will welcome the drop in temperature and humidity as it should make this a more comfortable day for all.
The racing action commences tomorrow at 12:20 PM and you can follow all of the action here throughout the day, or alternatively all of the races are live on ITV 4. We are looking forward to an action-packed day of racing tomorrow and hope to see some great racing with Charles and Aiden heading up towards the front of the field.
