BTCC Thruxton – Race 3

BTCC Season 2025 – THRUXTON – RACE 3

Well, here we are at the end of a long weekend where we have been hot, cold, sunny, cloudy and incredibly wet. Normally, June in Hampshire is a hot and sunny experience, so you can only imagine just how tough a weekend this has been for the drivers, mechanics and engineers!

It was an attritional race for everyone with retirements, a lengthy safety car, an exclusion, multiple black and flags, and a lot of cars consistently ignoring track limits. Fortunately, we were not one of the exclusions or retirements.

We’ll go with Aiden first as he was the top BMW in Race 3. Starting in 13th, Aiden was up to 12th on lap 3. Lap 5 saw Aiden getting stuck in a very hostile pack and finding himself down in 16th place on lap 11. Nevertheless, he was fired up by now and with true grit, was back up to P13 on lap 12, having briefly popped into 12th for a couple of corners. At the end, it was 13th for Aiden after a hard fought race.

Charles, starting from 11th, gained a place on lap 1 and ran in 10th until lap 8 when he made it up to 9th. Unfortunately, on lap 11, Charles was hit hard and dropped to 20th where he remained before retiring with a lap to go in the race. This really can be a brutal championship at times.

So we leave Thruxton still 3rd in the Manufacturers Championship and with Charles in 10th place in the Driver’s Championship and Aiden in 13th. Next up is Oulton Park in Cheshire in 2 weeks time and we look forward to seeing you there!!
