BTCC Season 2025 – Silverstone nat Free Practice 2
Good afternoon and welcome back to Silverstone where we are happy to report that for Free Practice 2, the sun put an appearance to cheer the drivers and garage crew up!
For Free Practice 2, we spent the session down in the pitlane looking at all the work that goes on with the engineers and mechanics working with the cars in real time. During this session alone, the team worked with 24 different tyres, 4 different length runs on track and even a practice start scenario.
The good news is, that following on from the morning’s earlier session, we were once again very competitive and were within a third of a second of the quickest car in the session.
Early on, Aiden topped the time sheets as he took time to stay out on circuit so that he could feedback to the engineers how the car was handling. Everything was positive and so Aiden did another couple of longer runs, going quicker each time.
Charles was also running through his routines and was posting very similar times to Aiden as the session progressed. The only negative for Charles was that the soft tyres weren’t faster and as a result he felt that there was perhaps a little more to come from the car.
At the end of the session, it was Aiden in P6 with a 56.981 second lap, with Charles in P7 just 0.02 of a second further back. Wow!! It could hardly get any closer!
On a final note, all eyes are on the heavens as rain is possible from 2.00 onwards and the skies are definitely darkening. Given our sparkling morning, let’s hope that it misses us and we can have a really good shot for Pole Position!
