BTCC Season 2025 – Silverstone National Qualifying
Good afternoon and welcome back to a damp Silverstone where we were having spots of rain that threatened to make it interesting in Qualifying Part 1.
Part one of Qualifying saw Charles staying out for 4 laps to put in a quick time and that proved a great decision as half way through the session, the rain got heavier and those early times were crucial in going through by topping the group.
It was a little similar for Aiden in the other group of Part one of Qualifying, where his blistering early pace before the rain came also saw him topping the time sheets.
As we went out for Qualifying Part 2, the rain had cleared, but it took 5 minutes for the tyres to warm up and the track to get its grip back.
With 4 minutes left in the 10 minute session, Aiden was 7th and Charles 9th as the times tumbled. Jake hill then put a quick time in dropping Aiden to 8th, but it is tough out there as was shown by Ash Suttons big spin at turn one.
As we went into the final minute, it was still Aiden in 8th and Charles in 9th which would convert to the same positions on the grid tomorrow. An absolutely stunning result as both cars were caught by the damp conditions.
