BTCC Season 2025 – THRUXTON – FREE PRACTICE 2
Welcome back to Thruxton for the second free practice session where the team weren’t so much trying to find single fast laps, but trying to find multiple set ups to guard against the possibility of storms which are forecast to arrive this afternoon. Hopefully they will miss qualifying, but if they don’t, we’ll be ready!!
The team are really conscious that all of the current weather forecasts are suggesting heavy rain at some point this afternoon. The plan for this session was, therefore to see how the cars reacted in a number of pre-agreed suspension set ups.
During the session, we did have little periods of drizzle, but it never got heavy enough to dampen the track and cause the boys to test the wet tyres for the first time this weekend.
We had mixed results early on, but we got some valuable data for the engineers to work with should the worst happen. Interestingly, Charles was still reporting some issues with his rear left tyre, but that is common around Thruxton.
Towards the end of the session we went for some quicker laps which put Charles 3rd in the session, with Aiden 18th, even though Aiden was less than a second behind. So next up it is qualifying and we are praying for it not to be wet!!
We will bring you the Qualifying action from Thruxton after 4.00. Let’s get prepared for that and see what we can do!
