BTCC Season 2025 – oulton park – race 2
Good afternoon everybody and welcome back to Oulton Park for Race 2 of this weekends action for Aiden and Charles. The weather is set fair with temperature a very pleasant 20 degrees with the track temperature at 27 degrees, although there is a gusty wind that has peaked at 20 mph which could upset a few cars on the limit!
Charles was starting in P11 with Aiden in P15 after Race 1 and both were hoping for a good clean race and a good points haul for the team.
Charles lost out off the line to Aron Taylor Smith, but on lap 3 he was able to get past Chris Smiley and James Dorlin to go back up to 10th place where he remained until lap 9. Sadly, after slipping to 10th on lap 10, Charles was then involved in some heavy contact with one of the Toyotas, causing him to drop to 23rd. Despite gaining 2 places back with 4 laps to go, it was 21st for Charles at the end and a chunk of repair work to do on the car.
Aiden was unlucky on lap 1 to get blocked slightly and lost 2 places to Gordon Shedden and Dary DeLeon to slip back to 17th. Losing another place to Mikey Doble, he was then able to gain a place back and ran in 17th from lap 3 to lap 14 in a big tussle with James Dorlin. Aiden was then able to gain another place and so finished in 16th.
Not the race that we were hoping for, but one of British Touring Cars greatest attractions is its unpredictability, it just doesn’t feel good when you are on the end of it!
