BTCC Season 2025 – CROFT – RACE 1
Welcome to race day here at Croft in bright and hot sunshine for the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship after a miserable wet start to the morning. It is amazing how quickly the tarmac has dried as we start with 2 warm up laps. The air temperature had sneaked into the 20’s and the track temperature was a hot 34.7 degrees! Certainly this was a big improvement over the weather of an hour ago.
Both Aiden and Charles made up places in a slightly disjointed race that contained a lengthy safety car period after an accident at the first corner. Charles was quick off the line, and despite losing a place on lap 2 to Ash Sutton, he was soon able to get that place back. From there, he was able to gain P8 on lap 5, where he found himself involved in a real battle with Aron Taylor-Smith. This was as far as it went however and Charles finished in P8.
Aiden, disappointed by starting in 16th, had the bit between his teeth from the off. He took 15th on lap 3, followed by 14th on the next few laps. Finally, on lap 10, he was able to take Dexter Patterson for 13th which is where he finished.This means that for Race 2, Charles will start 8th and Aiden 13th, and with the weather looking set fair, we hope for great things!
